generally quiet week ahead, still “thawing”

Mother Nature has been amazingly kind to us this Fall/Winter, after a harsh late Summer (flooding). I predicted a late start to Winter, but this has gone on even longer than I anticipated! This week holds one storm, and that looks less intense than it did 4 days ago. The storm will get here Thursday, and behind it, some lake effect is to be expected, but not alot. But as long as the steering winds aloft stay west or WNW, storms can’t really generate, and even if they did, that flow cuts off arctic air necessary for snow.

On a good note, have you noticed the increase in daylight? 4 more minutes over the weekend. Sundown doesnt happen till till 4:44, and represents a 14 minute gain in daylight since Dec 22.

Details of the forecast? Clouds and occasional flurries tonight, low only near 28F. Partly sunny, brisk breezes tomorrow, with occasional flurries, and a high of 38F. Wednesday, just mostly cloudy and still mild, high again near 38F. Rain showers on Thursday with snow showers Friday.
