Flakes ready to fly! Another snow-globe 24 hrs ahead :)

A cold front passing through the Lakes will itself set off snow showers Friday evening, maybe amounting to an inch or two in spots. Temps will bottom out in the mid-upper 20s. Now once the front has passed, much colder air passing over Lake Ontario will trigger some Lake Effect. It needs to be at least 26F colder than the Lake temp to produce such, and for a brief period of time (overnight into Sat aftn), it will be. But it wont be overwhelming and it wont be prolonged. It means that snow showers will likely persist from roughly the Thruway north, through much of Saturday. This means that, communities along the Thruway may see an additional 1-2″, and TugHill north will likely see another 2-4″ through the day. Highs will barely reach the mid 30s. Clearing skies Saturday night will leave us around or even under the 20F mark. Sunday is simple. Bright, seasonably cold…high between 35-39. That weather extends into Tuesday, for that matter.
