Terrific Saturday, but the holiday is in jeopardy

High Pressure is now nearly overhead, and so, winds will be light, thus shutting off the Lake Effect snow machine. In fact, as the High drifts to the east, winds around it turn southwestward, so a rapid warming trend is forecast for Saturday and Sunday. Saturday will be the nicer day, by far, because another storm moving through to our west will bring a few rainshowers Sunday afternoon. Skies may not totally clear out behind that storm, so that Monday and Tuesday will probably only feature partial sunshine. Highs Saturday, after a cold start, will approach 50, Sunday near 53, and then back into the 40s Monday and Tuesday. One final note. I expect a significant storm to develop over the Mid-Atlantic states and move along the coast Wednesday. It may be close enough to bring us measurable snow Wednesday, and then, behind it, winds off the Lake may bring us more snow into Thursday! So keep that in mind for travel purposes.
